Update of Historic Randall Park Neighborhood Plan.

At the request of the Historic Randall Park Neighborhood Association, the City of Eau Claire Plan Commission authorized the City Planning Division to work with the neighborhood association to prepare an update of the 1995 neighborhood plan for their area.

The primary purpose in preparing a neighborhood plan is to take an in-depth look at issues facing a neighborhood and develop a realistic and shared approach to address the issues. In addition, the preparation of a neighborhood plan leads to the development of cooperative strategies between the City and residents to help stabilize and promote the revitalization of the neighborhood.

The Historic Randall Park Neighborhood plan was originally adopted in 1978 and then most recently updated in 1995.

The process of updating this plan started in the fall of 2012 with assistance from the Historic Randall Park Neighborhood Association’s Steering Committee and Plan Update Committee. The committee included 10 residents of the neighborhood, a representative from the University, and a representative of the Water Street Business Improvement District.

The Plan Commission and City Council held public hearings on the plan and it was adopted on September 9, 2014.
